The acclaimed Brian Friel play 'Lovers' is coming to the Pavilion from Tuesday 12th to Saturday 16th June next.
From acclaimed Irish dramatist Brian Friel ('Philadelphia, Here I Come!', 'Dancing at Lughnasa'), 'Lovers' is a bittersweet meditation on love and loss, the play is told in two parts: 'Winners and Losers'.
In Winners we meet Joe and Mag, a young couple with their lives ahead of them, a secret between them, and a shadow over them.
In Losers, Andy and Hanna cope with the unromantic reality of domestic life after the spark has gone out.
Shot through with humour and pathos, Friel’s play has as much to say about Ireland’s shifting social attitudes as it does about love.
This production by the Lyric Theatre group is being directed by Emma Jordan, winner of the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Director.
And the cast includes Helena Bereen, Charlie Bonner, Ruby Campbell, Thomas Finnegan, Abigail Mc Gibbon, and Carol Moore
