Shortly after the passing of his brother, Bap Kennedy, Brian is set to play charity gig next month
Irish singer-songwriter Brian Kennedy is headlining the upcoming fundraising event at Whelan's, Dublin next month. Irish charity Haven will host the gig in aid of Haiti, alongside MC Katherine Lynch and many other special guests.
The gig aims to raise awareness and support for one of the poorest countries in the world, following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Matthew this past October. Over 1.4 million people were left in need of aid. Money raised from the event will directly fund Haven's emergency recovery work in Haiti.
Since 2008, the Irish non-governmental organisation has evolved to provide more relief services to the country. Haven has trained over 78,000 Haitians to build sustainable homes and use empowerment tools to stay out of poverty. The organisation also works with Haiti to provide clean water, sanitation, shelter solutions, and continual training for its people.

Headliner Brian Kennedy also recently announced his cancer diagnosis - not too long after his own brother, Bap, found out his cancer was terminal. Sadly, 54-year old Bap passed away this month after dealing with pancreas and bowel cancer.
The event will be held at Whelan's on Saturday, December 3.
