Britney Spears refuted her sister's claims of support on Twitter: "She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time".
Britney Spears has taken to Twitter saying her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, is promoting her new memoir at the singer's expense.
In an interview with Good Morning America, the actress insisted that she "took steps to help" end her sister’s controversial conservatorship that was terminated last year. The conservatorship allowed her father Jamie Spears and lawyer Andrew M Wallet to have complete financial control over the singer for the last 14 years.
In the ABC interview, she claimed to be her sister’s "biggest supporter."
"So when she needed help, I set up ways to do so, went out of my way to make sure she had the contacts she needed to possibly go ahead and end this conservatorship and just end this all for our family," Spears said.
According to the pop singer, this wasn’t the case.
In a tweet, Spears said her younger sister "never had to work for anything" and called herself "the bigger person."

"The two things that did bother me that my sister said was how my behaviour was out of control," Spears said. "She was never around me much 15 years ago at that time…so why are we even talking about that unless she wants to sell a book at my expense." Read her full tweet below.
The memoir, Things I Should Have Said, details Jamie Lynn's experiences growing up with a famous last name and her struggles with teen pregnancy. She spoke publicly about her sisters conservatorship for the first time in June last year, but has long faced criticism for her silence on the matter and accusations of complicity.
Britney ended her statement saying, "Hope your book does well Jamie Lynn."
