Britney Spears took to social media today to shut down rumours that she might be returning to the music industry
In a post on Instagram, international superstar Britney Spears had responded to rumours that she was planning a return to the studio. The American pop star said "I will never return to the music industry".
In the post, Spears shared a picture by 16th century Italian Baroque painter Guido Reno's Salomé's with the Head of John the Baptist.
The singer shared a the post on her personal social media to respond to claims in the US media that she was lining up songwriters for a 10th studio album.
"Just so we're clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I'm turning to random people to do a new album"

Spears also shared that she was a ghost writer for other performers saying: "When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!"
And reading her 2023 heavily publicised memoir The Women Inside Me does not necessarily enlighten fans to all that goes on in the pop star's life: "For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me …
The book received rave reviews, with critics praising her for its "raw and unfiltered" approach when depicting her experience of fame, motherhood and living under a conservatorship while readers were surprised to learn that Spear underwent a medical abortion while dating then boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
She continued saying that she has still composed music: "I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way"
Additionally to sharing that she will not be returning to the music industry and that she has ghost written songs for others, Britney Spears addressed a rumour that her best selling memoir was allegedly published without her consent to which she said: "that’s far from the truth".
In August 2022, Spears released her first new music since being released from a conservatorship that controlled almost every aspect of her life.
