The Korean pop band have announced they will be taking time to work on solo projects
South Korean boyband BTS have announced they will be taking a break to work on solo projects, mere days after releasing their latest album Proof on June 10. The seven-man band announced the news when hosting their annual FESTA dinner - which celebrates the groups anniversary with fans.
The original translation of the bands announcement mistakenly led fans to believe the group were taking a "temporary hiatus", but this was quickly addressed by a representative for the band. Allegedly, the band will be taking time to "explore some solo projects” but they will not be taking a hiatus.
The band have promised their break will not be as severe as One Direction's famous hiatus.

Speaking to BBC, entertainment journalist and BTS super-fan Lucy For said: "In K-pop, it's really not uncommon for groups that have seven, eight or nine members for the individuals in that group to have thriving solo careers but still very much be in their groups."
Naturally, due to this miscommunication, fans all over the world have taken to social media to air their grief.
Are you telling me I cried for an hour over BTS hiatus just for it to be an error in the subtitles 😭😭 #btshiatus pic.twitter.com/fVNo5dQi4c
