In addition to BTS, artists like Nine Inch Nails and Stevie Nicks have also cancelled their upcoming tours due to the pandemic.
BTS have announced the cancellation of their upcoming world tour, Map Of The Soul, due to rising concerns about the Delta variant of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Comprised of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, the K-pop band was originally supposed to tour in April of 2020, but it had to be postponed due to COVID.
Along with the announcement of the tour cancellation, the band's label, Bighit Entertainment, offered their sincere apologies to fans.
"Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map Of The Soul tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour," wrote Bighit in a translated statement. "However, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS Map Of The Soul Tour."

BTS have a massive online following and have won numerous awards, including the awards for Best Music Video and Best Fan Army at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Earlier this month, the boy band interacted with Elton John on Twitter after sharing a snippet of their latest single, 'Permission To Dance,' which was co-written with Ed Sheeran.
Other tours have also been cancelled due to the rise in Delta variant cases, including those of Nine Inch Nails, Garth Brooks, and Stevie Nicks.
