Gates opened yesterday as the first fans arrived for this year’s Oxegen Festival at Punchestown Racecourse.
By 1pm on Thursday afternoon over 17,000 campers had arrived, with 35,000 expected over the course of the weekend.
Last night campers were entertained in the campsites by acts at The Tribute Stage, including a Micheal Jackson tribute act ‘Man In The Mirror’, an Oasis tribute band and The Police Force who, as you might expect, pay homage to The Police. The Tribute Stage will run again from 6pm until 2am today.
The Nokia Live Stage, which is in the blue campsite, has one of the largest mobile screens in the world, and will feature DJs, VJs, a Festival TV channel, and 3D VJ Pioneers, NOVAK, over the weekend. Tonight, Nokia will present DJ sets from the likes of MTV’s Eclectic Method, 3D Disco, Arveene & Misk, thesmokeeaters, Dave Davin, Brian Maher, JB the Deejay, Lorcan Mak & Propaganda DJs.

Tonight will also see the opening of the campsites very weird, but very wonderful Silent Disco. Oxegen clubbers will be equipped with wireless headphones, while two separate DJs broadcast to them live via two dedicated FM channels.
The Signing Tent is gearing up for Day One, with Eliza Doolittle, Delorentos, Villagers, CODES and Tinie Tempah among those set to appear.
