Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have shared their latest track ‘Bongos’- their first collaborative single since the 2020 megahit ‘WAP’.
‘Bongos’ arrives with a colourful new music video directed by Tanu Muino.
In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Cardi B stressed that the song would not be a sequel to ‘WAP’. “I wonder how people are gonna react to this vibe because they’re really like expecting ‘WAP,’ like, ‘Oh, here they go again talking this and that,’” she said.
‘Bongos’ follows Cardi B’s ‘Hot Shit’ from 2022. Five years have passed since her debut LP Invasion of Privacy, with a sophomore project yet to be announced.
Nonetheless the rapper has been busy this past summer, releasing ‘Jealousy’ alongside Offset, ‘Put it on da Floor Again’ with Latto and ‘Point Me 2’ with FendiDa Rappa.

Megan Thee Stallion’s sophomore album Traumazine came out in August 2022. Since then, she’s hosted Saturday Night Live and appeared on Disney’s She Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Last month, Tory Lanez was handed a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan thee Stallion.
“As I reflect on the past three years, I view myself as a survivor, because I have truly survived the unimaginable,” she wrote after the sentencing was announced.
“[This guilty verdict] was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them.”
