Rapper Cardi B revealed at the 2021 BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards that she and her partner, Offset – of Migos fame – are expecting their second child.
The annual awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of Black performers across entertainment and sport, and returned this year as an in-person event in Los Angeles, with a fully-vaccinated audience. Last year, the show was held as a virtual event.
Performing at the awards ceremony with Migos, Cardi B walked on stage to reveal her baby bump. She confirmed the news shortly afterward, with an Instagram post captioned "#2!"

Elsewhere at the awards show, Cardi B's 'WAP' collaborator Megan Thee Stallion swept up several statues – including Best Female Hip Hop Artist, the Viewer's Choice Award for her remix of 'Savage' featuring Beyoncé, and she and Cardi B won Video of the Year and Best Collaboration in tandem, for 'WAP'.
Meanwhile, Giveon was named Best New Artist and Lil Baby was given the award for Best Male Hip Hop Artist. R&B duo Silk Sonic – aka Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak – won Best Group, and SZA took home a trophy for her hit single 'Good Days'.
On the film and television side of the awards, Andra Day (who is also a singer) won Best Actress for her performance as legendary jazz icon Billie Holiday in The United States vs. Billie Holiday, and Chadwick Boseman was given a posthumous award for Best Actor (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom).
Queen Latifah took home the lifetime achievement award, and gave an emotional speech, escorted by her father. "Be Black. Black is beautiful," she said. "I've always celebrated the woman because I was raised by a strong Black woman and raised by a father who loves women.
"We can't live without each other. I wanted to celebrate us because I know together we stand stronger than when we tear each other apart, and I've seen enough of that."
