Cardi B Splits From Husband Offset After Only One Year Of Marriage
"We grew out of love," reveals Cardi B, who took to Instagram to announce she has broken up with her husband Offset.
Cardi B and Offset, who is a member of the hip-hop group Migos, married in secret in September 2017.
The I Like It hitmaker had apparently married her husband in her bedroom, according to a report at the time by TMZ.
The couple are parents to daughter Kulture who was born in July 2018.
In the video posted on Instagram, Cardi B said there was no third party involved, adding that "things just haven't been working out" and that break-up is "nobody's fault".
The video clip, which you can check out below, has so far received over a staggering 15million plus views and counting.
She said: "So, everybody been bugging me and everything, and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now.
"We are really good friends and we are really good business partners - you know, he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other.
"But things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time. It’s nobody’s fault, I guess we just grew out of love. But we are not together anymore."
She also said: "I don’t know, it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father... And, yeah..."
Cardi B only released her debut album earlier this year. But she is already a bonafide megastar, having earned three number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The track Bodak Yellow made her the second female rapper to top the chart with a solo output—following Lauryn Hill in 1998.
While the song I Like It made her the first female rapper to attain multiple number-one songs on the chart, and her Maroon 5 collaboration Girls Like You extended that record.
Speaking in the past about her now ex-husband, Cardi B told The Fader, "It's been a blessing, me meeting him and meeting his friends. I see how hard they work.
"And that motivated me to work even harder. And I see how good things are going for them and how popping it is to be number one.
"And I'm like, I want that. A lot of people just see they jewelry and they money, but I don't think a lot of people see how hard they work for that shit every single day."
