Polachek's new track features in Oliver Leith's play about the end of Kurt Cobain's life.
Caroline Polachek has released an aria written for the opera based on the end of Kurt Cobain's life, Last Days. It was adapted from Gus Van Sant's film by Oliver Leith, a British composer.
Polachek's track is titled 'Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare' which translates from Italian to 'I Never Want to See the Sun Go Down'. It was produced by Danny L Harle, an acclaimed British producer signed to the PC Music label.
The 37-year-old musician rose to prominence as a solo artist for her 2019 single 'So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings' from LP Pang. The album peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Heartseekers Album chart. Previously, she was a part of an indie-pop band called Chairlift while studying at the University of Colorado.
More recently, she recorded a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 'Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)' for the Minions: Rise of Gru soundtrack produced by Jack Antonoff. She has a new single arriving on October 17th titled 'Sunset'.
