'So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings’ was released on Polachek’s acclaimed 2019 debut album, 'Pang'.
American musician Caroline Polachek and A.G. Cook have shared a new winter remix of Polachek’s Pang single ‘So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings’.
The frost-themed ‘So Cold You’re Hurting My Feelings’ alters the original track’s lyrics to suit the icy season.
Shared as part of PC Music‘s ‘Pop Carol Christmas’ livestream fundraiser on December 19th, Polachek changes the words to sing of mistletoe, Santa Claus and tinsel.
“I remember sitting by the fireplace one eventide, listening to the waxen clicks of the Pang vinyl – as I tend to do in the witching hours between dusk and dawn – when a gift was delivered to the flocculent chamber of my imagination," Cook wrote to his Instagram followers.
“‘Not like I’m counting the days’, she mused through the phonograph, ‘but it’s been twenty-five.’ I caught my breath, ran out of the library, and rushed down the spiral staircase to the solemnly decorated vestibule where I keep the telephone. I cannot recall if it was isolation, invention, or the somnambulant whimsy that holidays are made of, but soon we had struck upon an inversion most wicked, yet somehow both merry and true.

“Thank you Caroline for making this with me, the finale to last night’s Pop Carol. Also thank you to everyone who attended and took part, was a genuinely heart warming eve," Cook concluded.
A.G. Cook’s PC Music also shared a new Christmas album, Pop Caroler’s Songbook, featuring contributions from Cook, Hannah Diamond, Banoffee, umru, Aaron Cartier and other notable names.
The 35-year-old founder of ex-indie pop band Chairlift recently released a cover of Irish band The Corrs’ ‘Breathless’, and will release a deluxe remix LP called Standing At The Gate: Remix Collection on April 16th, 2021.
A Toro y Moi remix of ‘Hit Me Where It Hurts’ featuring Deftones‘ Chino Moreno will appear on the EP.
The Hot Press review of Pang referred to Polachek's debut as "a masterwork of sonic miracles and songwriting brilliance":
"Polachek has released music with her now-defunct band Chairlift for over a decade, but Pang is her first release under her own name. This conscious change gives her a much-needed chance to redefine her art. Now, we see her most true self laid bare song after song, as themes of burning love and complex relationships permeate the album."
