Infantile, sneering and utterly wonderful, Casual Sex In The Cineplex proved the begrudgers wrong when it sailed into the Irish and UK Top 10s. Helping it get there was indie disco staple ‘Where’s Me Jumper?’, which, amongst other achievements, rhymed “manifesto” with “put it to the test-o” to genuinely thrilling effect. The lads could also play a bit, as demonstrated by the tender ‘Veronica’, which strayed into Billy Bragg territory. Sadly, they never managed to shrug off the novelty tag and a brief flurry of interest in Japan faded into the background.
