Take a look at the video for 'A Pair Of Brown Eyes' below.
Following the release of her acclaimed album Covers earlier this year, Cat Power has shared a music video for her powerful rendition of The Pogues' 'A Pair Of Brown Eyes' – directed by American director Jim Jarmusch.
“As someone who deeply loves Cat Power’s music, getting to collaborate with Chan on this video was like a dream come true,” the lauded director noted in press statement. “She’s so inspiring to me, of course as an artist, but she’s also just such an extraordinary person.”
Covers – Cat Power's third album of reinterpretations of songs by classic and contemporary artists – also finds her covering tracks by Iggy Pop, Lana Del Rey, Bob Seger, Nick Cave, Jackson Browne, Kitty Wells, The Replacements, Billie Holiday and more. Read our review of the album here.
She recently contributed to the soundtrack of Sean Penn's feature film Flag Day, alongside Eddie Vedder, his daughter Olivia Vedder, and Glen Hansard.
'A Pair Of Brown Eyes' isn't the first Irish track that Cat, aka Chan Marshall, has covered. Her 2008 EP, Dark End Of The Street, included a rendition of 'The Auld Triangle', retitled 'Ye Auld Triangle'.

Her cover of The Pogues' classic has previously earned the praise of the band's Spider Stacy.
"This has got its hooks in me and it won't let go," he wrote on Twitter. "Gorgeous interpretation."
