Cathal Coughlan and Brand New Friend's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebration are going live tonight.
Following stunning performances on 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're bringing you another special evening of back-to-back Van covers – with Cathal Coughlan performing 'Come Here My Love', followed by Brand New Friend performing 'Wonderful Remark'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country.
Famed for his era-defining work with Microdisney and The Fatima Mansions, as well as his solo recordings, Cathal Coughlan is widely considered one of Ireland’s greatest heroes of alternative rock. He recently contributed to Side 4 Collective’s star-studded new album, We Burn Bright.
Indie-pop band Brand New Friend have been making serious waves over the last few years – building up an impressive live profile, as well as support slots for the likes of Snow Patrol, Lewis Capaldi and Kodaline. The band’s most recent EP, A Cure For Living, arrived in February, following 2018’s Seatbelts for Aeroplanes.
