Three of Ireland’s finest traditional singers and instrumentalists— Cathy Jordan, Jarlath Henderson and Mick Daly— will be on tour this autumn playing shows and offering lessons as part of Music Network's Learning and Participation programme.
The inventive singers offer up some stunning new interpretations of well-worn songs, with stirring instrumental playing and more than a little theatrical energy thrown into the mix.
Best known as the lead singer of trad supergroup Dervish, Cathy Jordan’s energy and powerful stage presence have captivated audiences at thousands of concerts in over 40 countries, including gigs at the Great Wall of China and the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.
For this tour, Jordan is joined by Mick Daly, founder member of the group Four Men and a Dog, and Jarlath Henderson, youngest ever winner of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.
In addition to the tour, Jordan will be facilitating vocal workshops, and Henderson will be offering workshops for pipes and whistles to musicians of all ages around the country. The ten-show tour includes dates at The Sugar Club in Dublin, the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire, Triskel Christchurch in Cork and others.
Tickets for all regional concerts through Music Network are available from individual promoters around the country. Single tickets for Dublin concerts range from €10 - €20, or can be purchased as a ticket bundle from €50.
