CD and Triple-Vinyl sets of Rory Gallagher's BBC recordings announced for release
The CDs, vinyl and DVDs will be released on October 11.
A 20 disc set that includes eighteen CDs containing radio concerts and sessions of Rory Gallagher from 1971 to 1986 and two Blu Ray discs of the BBC TV concerts and studio performances from 1973 to 1984 will become available.
Rory Gallagher The BBC Collection is set to be the definitive collection of Rory Gallagher’s recorded performances at the BBC.
With over three quarters of the audio recordings having never been officially released before, and the concerts on the Blu Ray discs being officially released for the first time, this all massive set will demonstrate the raw power and energy of Gallagher Live.
Additionally, 2CD and triple-LP The Best of Rory Gallagher at the BBC sets will be released featuring eleven of Gallagher’s best BBC studio recordings and a thirteen track (twelve on 3LP) 1979 BBC In Concert Live from The Venue performance.
Rory Gallagher The BBC Collection will also be made available digitally.
Gallagher was voted as the 47th guitarist of all time by the Rolling Stones Magazine in 2015. His iconic 1961 Fender Stratocaster and the rest of his instrument collection, is heading for auction later this year, with the Stratocaster alone being valued at around £1m.
There has been a Gofundme campaign to purchase the legendary musician's guitar to showcase it in Cork. The fundraiser had raised over €25,000 so far.
All CDs, Vinyl and DVDs will be available to preorder here for shipping on October 11.
