The single, released via the Rubyworks label has been gathering momentum since its release – and is beginning to look like a potential anthem of the summer.
‘Show Me Where Your Heart Is’ by Chameleon has hit the No.2 spot in the Irish breakers radio play chart.
Chameleon – aka Matthew Harris – was the winner of the A New Local Hero award, as part of Irish Music Month 2021 – an initiative launched by Hot Press in partnership with 25 Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) radio stations. Irish Music Month is supported by the BAI (Broadcasting Authority of Ireland), under its Sound & Vision scheme.
The single, released on the Rubyworks label, came about directly as a result of Chameleon’s A New Local Hero win.
‘Show Me Where Your Heart Is’ is a hugely radio-friendly summer anthem that has been gathering impressive momentum since its release in the middle of July.
“It’s great to see so many radio stations getting behind the single as planned,” Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said. “I love the track, which has the feel of a proper Summer anthem, so it works brilliantly across different stations and different genres. Chameleon is hugely talented – he really does have the potential to go all the way – and so there’s no doubt in my mind that the release of ‘Show Me Where Your Heart Is’ is the start of something big. I think that, in the long run, getting behind him early in his career is something that people in Irish radio will be entitled to feel really proud of.”

Matthew was tempted to move to London, but a gut feeling that Ireland was on the cusp of a musical revolution changed his mind.
"I’m staying in Dublin,” he told Hot Press, "because I feel something bubbling here in Ireland.”
Announcing the release of the single on hotpress.com, Kate Brayden gave the track a massive thumbs-up.
"'Show Me Where Your Heart Is' kicks off with a floating, fuzzed guitar riff and '80s-style synths,” she wrote, "before Chameleon's textured, soulful vocals rein in the instrumentation. The sultry track has an addictive bridge and insanely catchy chorus, with scattered raps giving it a funky zeitgeist-defining edge."
Judges for the A New Local Hero award included representatives from IMRO, RAAP, Rubyworks, the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland and Hot Press, as well as musicians and songwriters, Ruth Anne Cunningham and Róisín O.
Matthew Harris received an incredible prize for his win, including €5,000 in cash; €5,000 worth of gear from X-Music and the release of a single via the Rubyworks label. ‘Show Me Where Your Heart Is’ is the result.
