As evidenced by a five gazillion-week stint in the charts, ‘Party Rock Anthem’ will be remembered as one of the biggest tracks of 2011, especially in Australia, where it remains the best-selling tune of the decade. What’s really remarkable though, is that for all the success the dizzying club anthem has brought LMFAO, most people still don’t know anything about the LA electro hop duo who created it. This is something that LMFAO are presumably hoping to tackle with follow-up banger ‘Champagne Showers’, but unfortunately for DJs Redfoo and SkyBlu, this second verse is the same as the first. Dance-floor honeyz and brotherz will be far too busy thumping the air and popping their shoulders to notice who’s responsible for this bounty of mindless dance wizardry. We can only hope that a couple more noughts in the bank will be some small comfort to them.
