She also addressed whether she plans to make a country album.
Chappell Roan has announced that her new single, 'The Giver', will be released on March 14 at 1 a.m.
She has also confirmed that the song will be a country tune, written with Dan Nigro.
The track has been highly anticipated since its debut on Saturday Night Live in November 2024. In the weeks leading up to its release, the singer teased the song through billboards featuring her in various occupations. She also staged a dial-in stunt that played snippets of the tune and launched limited 7" vinyl pre-orders, named the 'Lawyer Edition' and 'Plumber Edition'.
Roan revealed the release date for 'The Giver' on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself in construction gear.
“I have such a special place in my heart for country music," she wrote. "I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus. It swirled around me at bonfires, grocery stores, and karaoke bars.”

The 'Pink Pony Club' singer then addressed speculation about a potential country album, clarifying:
"Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is… hmm. Right now, I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun. 'The Giver' is my take on cuntry. Xoxo. May the classic country divas lead their genre. I am just here to twirl and do a little gay yodel for yall. ✲☆⋆"
Over the past 12 months Roan has blown up in popularity, becoming one of pop’s biggest stars.
'The Giver' is Roan’s first new single since her hit 'Good Luck, Babe!', released in April 2024. The song topped both the Official Irish Singles Chart and the Irish Airplay Chart.
The song's announcement follows her recent wins at the Grammys, where she was named 'Best New Artist'. At the BRIT Awards, she won 'Best International Artist' and 'Best International Song' for 'Good Luck, Babe!'.
