Charli XCX's new album will be "experimental"
This will be the upbeat pop singer's third album.
In an interview with NME magazine, Charli XCX teased details about her upcoming third album, which does not have a release date yet.
Her recent single, 'Blame It on Your Love', featuring the universally loved Lizzo, was released earlier this month and was a reworking of 'Track 10' from her mix-tape, Pop 2.
This will be XCX's third LP album since her 2014 Sucker, releasing two mix-tapes in 2017. When asked about the 'Boys' singer's decision to return to a traditional LP, she said: “I think essentially for me, if you look at it on paper, they kind of are albums but they’re called mixtapes just so I could put them out faster".
In the interview, XCX talked about how she really wanted to expand her sound and "push pop to its limit" and that “I didn’t go small on this, I really went all in".
Charli performed at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend where she sang iconic favourites, 'I Love It' and '1999' as well as the recently reunited Spice Girl's 'Wannabe'.
