Irish hop-hop group Chasing Abbey are promoting their upcoming EP in quite the unconventional manner – according to the group’s Twitter account, the EP, entitled The Odyssey Project, will be premiered for a limited audience “in a secret location” in Dublin on Saturday.
All one must do to be the among the first to hear The Odyssey Project is win tickets from Eoghan McDermott’s show on RTÉ 2 FM. Here’s the catch: tickets can only be won if the listener texts a specific number (51552) just as McDermott plays a Chasing Abbey song on the radio. If called, the listener must then sing the group's single ‘Talk to Me’ into the phone.
This esoteric move comes just before the group is slated to headline a series of Dublin venues, including The Olympia on 14 April and The Academy on 27 September as part of their Culchie Kid Tour.
Chasing Abbey’s first release, ‘That Good Thing,’ was honored with the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Song of the Year Award in 2017. Though the Tullamore-based band have only a handful of singles so far, members Ro, Bee and Teddy C. have already supported acts like Rita Ora, The Chainsmokers, and Martin Garrix.
“May the odds be ever in your favor,” teased the band’s Twitter in regards to the contest.
