Punk band Chewie (formerly Chewing on Tinfoil) have announced a headline show at The Academy, Dublin on Friday, October 17.
The group have been a core part of Dublin’s underground punk scene for nearly two decades. They pride themselves on being a DIY band that has done everything themselves- organising international tours, promoting their often sold-out gigs, and releasing music under their own label.
Their most recent album, Inarticulate, was released in May 2023, however for their upcoming October show, Chewie plan to revisit a project they produced ten years previous. Marrowbone Lane, a twelve track record from 2013, will be played in its entirety as the band takes the stage at the Academy.
Chewie have plan to re-release a version of the 2013 album later this year, re-mastered from the original recordings. The original release has been streamed over 10 million times since 2013, and is considered a cult classic among some punk circles.

Chewie are known for their energetic live shows, with a loyal fan base built over their years of performing. Their last Dublin show, in October 2024, was played at the Button Factory to raise funds for the Gaza Kinder Relief charity, who provide emergency aid to children in Gaza.
