The Waterford band are bowing out in style with a feel-good charity single.
Following the release of their long-awaited debut album, Can't Stop Or Rewind, last year, Chimpanbee have returned with a Christmas charity single, 'This One's From Me'. Taking to social media, the Waterford band revealed that the track "will also be the last ever Chimpanbee release as we arrive at the end of an era."
Proceeds from 'This One's From Me' will be donated to the Tinteán Housing Association, which provides accommodation and support for homeless women and families in Waterford. The song is also being released as the anthem for BuskAid 2019 – Ireland's first city-wide busking festival for charity. Founded by Tadhg Williams, BuskAid takes place across Waterford city on December 21, and has raised over €15,000 for Tinteán since its inaugural year in 2016.

Although packed with plenty of feel-good energy, dance floor-filling groove and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, 'This One's From Me' is nonetheless a bittersweet release from the Waterford band, as their final single. Shortly after the release of their debut album last year, Chimpanbee's keyboard player, Damien O'Brien, died after an assault in Waterford, aged 28.
In his seven star review of Can't Stop Or Rewind, Hot Press's Edwin McFee noted that "the inspired mix of ghostly vocals and atmospheric keyboards underlines Chimpanbee's huge potential."
