Chloe Moriondo is not the only artist to call off tours in recent months, with Santigold, Lorde and Arlo Parks speaking out.
Chloe Moriondo’s UK and European tour, which was due to take place in early 2023, has now been cancelled, with the singer citing the expense of touring as the reason behind the decision.
Taking to Twitter to make the announcement, the 20-year old pop artist addressed the message to her fans, expressing her sadness and issuing an apology for the cancellations.
hi :( i would like to say here w my words that uk/eu dates are being canceled due to the cost of touring. it makes me unbelievably sad especially for the overdue cities i was supposed to play. i’m so sorry and i wish i could come see you. i hope u know that if i could i would

She quickly followed up her original post stating, “though i’m rly very sad, i am going to hold on to and greatly value the stretch of time at home i’ll have due to this cancellation. i’m really excited to find who i am again- i can’t wait to be back online as frequently as i used to be and introduce u once i meet her. i loveu.”

Her cancelled tour was in support of her latest and third album, Suckerpunch, which would have included a performance at the London’s Shepard’s Bush Empire.
Although Moriondo is another artist to cancel tours, she is definitely not the first, with many other musicians cornered into cancelling due to financial issues.
Most recently, Santigold cancelled her upcoming Holified tour in September, citing inflation and the post -pandemic touring landscape. This has also been echoed by Londoner Arlo Parks - citing mental health reasons - and New Zealand artist Lorde, who spoke recently too of the economic realities of touring in a newsletter that was sent to fans in November.
