The Irish Album of the Year award is chosen from a shortlist of ten albums by a panel of eleven Irish music media professionals and industry experts.
Now entering its 19th annual iteration, last year saw CMAT take home the accolade for her debut LP IF My Wife New I’d Be Dead. Artist of the Year was given to Fontaines D.C, with Moncrieff and Cian Ducrot winning Song of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year respectively.
Sinéad O’Connor was also celebrated with the inaugural Classic Irish Album category, for her 1990 sophomore record I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got.
