A founding member of New Wave group Squeeze, the English singer and musician has announced a number of Irish shows, including a special gig in Cavan with former members of hometown group The Strypes.
Grammy nominated and 2 time Ivor Novello award winning lyricist Chris Difford returns to Ireland for five shows. His stand up, sit down show 'UP THE JUNCTION' follows on from a successful Edinburgh fringe performance in 2018.
The May 5th show at The Ramor Theatre in Cavan will see Difford joined on stage by former The Strypes members Evan Walsh and Pete O'Hanlon. The band formed in Cavan in 2010 and found success with their blues inspired music, before splitting up last year.
Over the course of his show, Chris Difford will reveal more from his autobiography Some Fantastic Place while playing songs from his enviable Squeeze back-catalogue and recounting tales from his 40 year career. With his collaborator and Squeeze co-founder Glen Tilbrook, Chris has written enduring tunes including 'Cool For Cars', 'Up The Junction', 'Tempted' and 'Labelled With Love'.
