The Cork native was one of one of the co-writers on SZA's award-winning song 'Saturn'
Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot has been awarded his first Grammy for his collaboration with SZA on her single ‘Saturn’, which won Best R&B Song at the 67th iteration of the awards last weekend. He took to Instagram to celebrate the achievement.
“Thank you SZA for writing a masterpiece and asking me to be a part of this song you are the greatest to ever do it!” Ducrot wrote. “Never stop dreaming guys!”
The other songs competing for the top spot of Best R&B Song this year were ‘Ruined Me’ by Muni Long, ‘Here We Go (Uh Oh)’ by Coco Jones, ‘Burning’ by Tems, and ‘After Hours’ by Kehlani.
In an interview with Hot Press in February 2024, Ducrot shared his experience writing a song with SZA.
“I went into the studio and SZA was so lovely, telling me that she was a big fan and had watched all my videos,” said Ducrot. “Inside my head, I was going, ‘Er, no, I’m the fan!’ It was so fucking surreal.”

Ducrot released his debut single in 2021 - ‘Not Usually Like This’. He continued with a string of singles through 2021, with his ‘All For You’ track in 2022 becoming his first to chart.
He released his first studio album, Victory, on August 4 2023. The debut record reached number one on Irish and UK charts.
