Irish musicians Cian Nugent, David Murphy & Matthew Nolan will be taking part in an evening of electric and pedal steel guitar at The Fumbally, Dublin, on February 7.
They will be joined by guests Sean Mac Erlaine and Lisa Dowdall.
David Murphy is a pedal steel player who has earned plaudits for his ability to take the instrument outside the confines of its traditional roots. As well as appearing on a number of experimental music and film soundtracks, he is best known for his work alongside the likes of The Lost Brothers, John Blek and Ordnance Survey, to name a few.
Matthew Nolan is a Dublin-based musician, composer, curator, and academic. He has worked on commissions from a wide range of performing arts institutions and organisations, including: The Dublin International Film Festival, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Dublin Fringe Festival, National Gallery of Art, Cork and Dublin French Film Festivals, Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, Cork Midsummer Festival, Museum of Literature Ireland, Film at Lincoln Centre in New York, and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.

Over the last 10 years he has collaborated on new music with some musicians such as Rachel Grimes, Sean Mac Erlaine, Lisa Hannigan, Erik Friedlander, Adrian Crowley, Jeff Ballard, Sharon Phelan, Eivind Aarset and more.
Cian Nugent is a guitar player and songwriter from Dublin, who combines personal passions, such as folk/blues, psychedelia, 1960s & ’70s singer-songwriters, jazz ambitions and electrified improvisation. He has toured widely both as solo artist and in groups alongside artists like Steve Gunn, Ryley Walker, Angel Olsen and Nap Eyes. His latest album She Brings Me Back To The Land Of The Living was released in 2023 to critical acclaim.
