Tony McLoughlin is a northern Irish singer, working and recording in Germany. McLoughlin has written all the material here, which ranges from the memory of trips to the old widescreen cinema in Talbot Street from which the title track comes, to a song that describes his segregated upbringing in the North (‘Billy Wilson’).

McLoughlin has written all the material here, which ranges from the memory of trips to the old widescreen cinema in Talbot Street from which the title track comes, to a song that describes his segregated upbringing in the North (‘Billy Wilson’).
Recorded with a bass, drum, guitar and organ backdrop, the songs are delivered in a muscular setting which gives them a winning edge.
McLoughlin also has a rough-edged, robust voice that serves his purpose well. While the songs may not be classic, or particularly original even, there is a strong sense of involvement in the material.
