More than another bird with an acoustic guitar, Margaret O’Sullivan’s exquisitely heartrending voice would make even Tanya Donnelly want to throw in the towel, and there is perhaps a debt to said diva that should be acknowledged. The light ’n’ fluffy “Femmepop” name really doesn’t do justice to what is in fact an airy, delicate, intelligent sound that will imprint itself on your bones. Absolutely gorgeous.
