The gig is now set to take place in February.
Following the death of one of Clannad's founding members – and uncle to Moya, Ciarán and Pól Brennan – Noel Duggan, the group have announced that they're rescheduling their highly anticipated Dublin Farewell Show at the 3Arena. Originally set to take place on December 9, the gig has now been pushed back to February 18, 2023.
"We need time to heal and to reset after Noel's sudden and tragic passing ... he will be sorely missed," the band have commented.
Noel Duggan died suddenly in Donegal earlier this month, aged 73.
Clannad were originally formed in 1970, by siblings Ciarán, Pól and Máire and their twin uncles, Noel and Pádraig Duggan. Pádraig died in 2016, aged 67.
Over the course of their remarkable career, Clannad have sold over 15 million records worldwide, as well as winning a Grammy Award, a BAFTA, an Ivor Novello Award and a Billboard Music Award. In 2020, they released an acclaimed compilation album, In a Lifetime.
