The Co. Cork artist shares her latest single, a groove-laden jazz track with real heart.
Known for her ability to blend Jazz, funk and Latin music with a Celtic twist, Cork multi-instrumentalist Clare Sands has shared her upbeat summer number with us.
Written during the winter months when Clare was based in Morocco, the song act as a both carefree anthem about "falling into shit" (adventures/relationships, take your pick) and an exuberant plea to - you guessed it - let the sun shine.
Clare's experimentation with funk and trad elements leads to the song's "mental and unexpected fiddle solo", which works well even though it absolutely shouldn't.
The song was recorded in Wavefield Studios with the much revered producer Brian Casey. It follows on from the release of Clare's 5-track EP The Basement Sessions and her recent singles 'Better To Have Loved?' and 'Dance x3'.

Clare will have her biggest Dublin and Cork shows to date this November. She'll be playing at Workmans Club on November 6, before performing at Cyprus Avenue on November 21. She'll also be playing at the Word Tent and on the Jerry Fish stage at Electric Picnic this September.
