The rising folk-pop star's latest single pays tribute to Dublin summers and new beginnings.
Fresh from his stellar set at Indiependence, Oscar Blue has released a brand new single, '99 Ice Cream'. The feel-good track is the latest landmark in a phenomenal summer for the Clare-born artist.
His previous single, 'A Dance At The Crossroads', was premiered on Hot Press in June, and went on to receive major radio support. The track paid homage to an Ireland of yesteryear, while incorporating a fresh folk-pop sound that's distinctly his own.
Now, Oscar has returned with '99 Ice Cream', an upbeat track that celebrates summer days and starting a new chapter in his adopted home of Dublin. Since moving to the capital from the west of Ireland, Oscar has seen his profile soar, with two sold out headline shows Upstairs in Whelan's and The Sound House. Following a summer tour of the east coast of America, including a headline show in the Rockwood Musical Hall in New York, and a Scratcher Sessions appearance, he returned to Ireland to play the main stage at Indiependence on August 3.
"I went up [to Dublin] with a blank canvas and realised I could decorate it as I please, which is a very special thing," he reflects in a statement about the release. "There are few moments in your life when this is the case. I've certainly had some of my times in Dublin."

Since releasing his debut last August, Oscar has rapidly become a Spotify success story - receiving major support from the platform's editorial playlists, and clocking up a total of over 1.2 million streams across 75 countries.
