Dublin-based four-piece Cloud Castle Lake took to All Together Now's Something Kind of Wonderful stage early Sunday afternoon, delivering post-punk tunes to hungover crowds sipping eco-water.
For the most part delivering tunes that stretch way past the five minute mark, the band - featuring synths, keyboards and drums - built some interesting compositions, surprising audiences on a few occasions by dropping a gospel or classical music sample.
Lead vocalist, synth player and lyricist Daniel McAuley - like Wastefellow yesterday - has a striking high-pitched wail of a voice, evoking Radiohead in their King of Limbs era. The band use that skill interestingly, utilising it more as another instrument then what to focus their tunes around.

However, like Maribou State yesterday on the same stage, Cloud Castle Lake's long songs with little hooks grow slightly repetitive live, particularly with no background visuals. However, to the band's credit, they busted out a few untitled new tunes which saw the keyboards swapped for guitars, adding a faster, more propulsive energy to the set.
The band have the talent. A way to harness and enhance that on stage could make them a big festival act in the future.
