The new music video for 'California' releases at midnight tonight
Ahead of the release of her sophomore record CrazyMad, For Me on 13th of October, Irish singer-songwriter CMAT will be releasing a brand new music video for opening track 'California.'
A follow-up to her choice Choice Music Prize winning album 'If my Wife New I'd Be Dead,' CrazyMad For Me is set to be a captivating reinvention of CMAT'S sound so far, a theatrical fusion of mainstream indie, '80s and '90s pop and 20th century country music.
In his new review of the album for Hot Press, Will Russell hailed the album as "essential listening," an epic narrative soundtracked with "indie; 20th century country; Kate Bush sonics; Celine Dion vocals; Gram Parsons’ Cosmic Music; the psychedelic soft-rock of Todd Rungren; and Meatloaf’s epic theatricality..."
An offbeat concept album CrazyMad sees a 47-year-old alternate CMAT constructing a time machine from a DIY YouTube video, to go back and save herself from a toxic relationship; ultimately crashlanding in 1890s Paris, when her faulty contraption goes haywire...
