This week has proved to be a succesful one for Irish acts, as CMAT and The Mary Wallopers fight off some of the world's biggest artists to claim first and second.
Dublin-born singer-songwriter CMAT has claimed top spot on the Irish charts with her album Crazymad, for Me. The project is this month's Hot Press cover star's second full-length LP, following up from last year's If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, which also peaked at no.1 upon it's release.
Speaking to Lucy O'Toole in the latest edition of Hot Press, the singer said "I purposely try to make myself look bad on this record, because I think I was bad," touching on the album's break-up theme. "I'm letting people in on a very embarassing, pathetic, and mean side of myself, because I want people to be able to see themselves in it."

The Mary Wallopers claimed second place with their sophmore album Irish Rock n Roll . The first record from the band to feature original material, it marks the Louth group's status as rising trad favourites in the Irish scene.

Elsewhere in the top ten are a string of international powerhouses. Olivia Rodrigo's Guts is at no.3, while Canadian rapper Drake's latest project For All The Dogs is at no.4.
The imperious Taylor Swift remains a mainstay, with Midnights and Folkore at no.6 & 7 respectively, while Arctic Monkeys' AM climbed 12 places into no.8, during a week in which the Sheffield band played four shows on the island in lieu of last summer's cancelled Marlay Park gig.
