Coldplay have announced the release of their tenth studio album , Moon Music. The LP will be released this October 4 with the first single, 'feelslikeimfallinginlove', set to be delivered this Friday, June 21.

The British pop band debuted the single last night during a sold-out stadium show at Budapest's Puskás Aréna.

The album, produced by Max Martin, who has previously worked The Weekend, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, has a particular emphasises on sustainability measures with the record made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.

Moon Music will be the first album worldwide to be released as a 140g EcoRecord rPET LP, meaning each copy will contain nine recycled PET-plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste.

This process will reportedly reduce the use of more than 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic and provides an 85% reduction in manufacturing process CO2 emissions/kg.

The band collaborated with long-time partners The Ocean Cleanup to create an additional Notebook Edition of the album, which is comprised of 70% river plastic from the Rio Las Vacas in Guatemala. The Notebook collection comes as a hardback book and is a replica of Chris Martin's original studio notebook. It contains 28 pages of unseen notes, lyrics, and illustrations from the album's writing and recording process.

The first edition of Moon Music will be strictly limited to reduce waste. It will be released in four formats:  EcoCD,  EcoRecord rPET LP, Notebook Edition EcoCD, and  Notebook Edition EcoRecord rPET LP+ EcoCD.

Moon Music is Coldplay's first album since 2021's Music Of The Spheres, which rose to the US No.1 single chart with 'My Universe', which featured the K-pop powerhouse BTS. The album went on to be nominated for Best Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Coldplay are set to play four sold-out shows in Dublin this August 29 and 30 as well as September 1 and 2 at Croke Park as part of their Music of the Sphere World Tour.
