The band gave excited fans one day notice for their exciting live EP.
On the first day of December, Coldplay took to social media to share a 13-second black-and-white clip of them performing a stripped back set, with the caption "Tomorrow// Infinity Station Sessions EP".
The special collection will arrive as part of 'From Apple Music With Love', an ongoing Christmas countdown series featuring exclusive releases from some of music's biggest acts. Elton John, Nile Rogers, and more have recently shared new content to the platform.
The new EP has been released to Apple Music and features live versions of tracks from Coldplay's ninth studio album, Music Of The Spheres, released this October, as well as a moving rendition of their 2010 single, 'Christmas Lights'. Hot Press writer Lucy O'Toole praised the album's last track 'Coloratura', stating "with vibrant instrumentation that brings to mind both prog-rock and Pixar soundtracks, it’s the closest the album comes to vividly conjuring up the feeling of an epic journey through the cosmos."
After committing in 2019 to not return to live touring until it could be done sustainably, Coldplay has finally announced their 2022 environmentally-friendly world tour.
The band have pledged to cut direct emissions by 50% compared to their most recent tour, use solar installations and kinetic energy at every venue to power a mobile rechargeable show battery, and to plant a tree for every tickets sold.
