The new edition of the band's debut album 'Parachutes' on transparent yellow vinyl is set to be released on November 20.
Coldplay's infamous video for 'Yellow' saw frontman Chris Martin walking towards the camera on an empty beach getting soaked to the core, but the group have now shared unseen footage from the music video.
To celebrate the 20th birthday of their debut album Parachutes, Coldplay have confirmed that the now-iconic music video wasn't the original idea for the track's visuals.
Taking to TikTok, the band gave details of the re-release of the LP on transparent yellow vinyl as well as showing video footage of Martin dry, barefoot and wearing a long-sleeved red shirt on the beach.
“Take one of the 'Yellow' video (we’ve never shown this before),” the band's TikTok message to fans reads.
“There were loads of extras in this version. But it rained all day so we sent them home at 4pm,” it continues.

“Chris grabbed the cameraman and said ‘let’s just walk down the beach’ - worked out well in the end!”
Writing on Instagram to note the anniversary of Parachutes, Coldplay said:
“Happy 20th birthday to Parachutes, the album which set us off on this amazing adventure. Thanks to all of you who have joined along the way. We’ve fully restored the 'Yellow' video to 4K quality (full video on our YouTube now). Feels like yesterday, in another lifetime.”
During the coronavirus lockdown, Coldplay have kept busy by taking part in a host of live-streamed sessions and charity gigs from home.
The band took part in the Global Citizen concert last month - dedicated their song ‘Paradise’ to Elijah McClain, a 23-year-old Black man who was killed by police officers.
Chris Martin also held a regular ‘Together At Home’ series of streams in the early months of lockdown, playing Coldplay classics and a host of covers.
