Davy swoops and yelps her way through proceedings with her distinctive voice, inviting comparisons with others before deciding that she’d rather be completely unique if it’s all the same with you.
Such is the preference for the DIY approach these days, it’s almost a surprise to find a new Irish performer who actually has a record deal. EMI’s faith in Dubliner Davy, however, looks set to be more than repaid if this debut is anything to go by. Davy swoops and yelps her way through proceedings with her distinctive voice, inviting comparisons with others before deciding that she’d rather be completely unique if it’s all the same with you. The other three tracks are no slouches either and Hot Press’ decision to make her one of our ones to watch for the year looks to be have been a rather nifty choice.
