The Dubliner has beaten the retweet record set by Kobe Bryant
It's no secret that Conor McGregor likes to break records. After each of his UFC fights, he often likes to gloat about how he's broken the attendance, PPV and gate records. Now, he can add the most retweets record to his growing list of achievements.
Since tweeting "I have decided to retire young. Thanks for the cheese. Catch ya's later," the Irishman's post has received 162,959 retweets in two days, making it the most retweeted message of any athlete in the world.
I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya's later.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 19, 2016
The previous record was held by L.A. Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant, who coincidentally, also tweeted about his retirement. His goodbye to the NBA post in November 2015, got 130,185 retweets.

The only thing that might break McGregor's new Twitter record is a post stating "Guess who's back?".
