Some of the most prominent names in Cork's thriving alternative music scene – including The Altered Hours, Pretty Happy, Elaine Malone, Fixity, I Dreamed I Dream and Caoilian Sherlock – have joined forces for a Gaza fundraiser gig, taking place in the city's Cyprus Avenue on Sunday, March 24.
All proceeds from the show are going to the Irish non-profit organisation Human Appeal – who have been on the ground in Palestine since 1991, working to empower and uplift communities.
Many of the artists on the line-up have previously been involved in raising funds and awareness around the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, with Elaine Malone releasing a cover of Lee Hazlewood's 'Your Sweet Love' back in November, in aid of Medical Aid Palestine.
Taking to Instagram to share the gig poster – illustrated by Annie Mar – Caoilian Sherlock stressed the importance of continuing to support the Palestinian people.
"We must keep the pressure on the Irish government to push the EU to do more, keep Gaza in conversation as Irish ministers meet with international leaders over St. Patrick’s Weekend and push for international justice for Palestinians!" he wrote. "At the heart of the matter we must support the Palestinian people trapped in Rafah."
As reported by Al Jazeera, at least 29,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7, while around 80% of Gaza's population have been displaced.

Cork-based vegan food company My Goodness – who have been raising funds for Palestine with their 'Goods for Gaza' merch and products – will also be involved in the upcoming Gig for Gaza.
