After a whopper gig in the 3Arena last month, the Dingle natives are heading south.
Since shooting out of the gate back in 2012 with debut single 'Catch Me If You Can', Dingle band Walking On Cars have really shaken up the Irish scene - crafting irresistible hits that have topped charts at home and abroad.
After the mammoth success of their debut album, 2016's Everything This Way, the usual speculation abounded: could Walking On Cars strike indie-pop gold twice? Despite encountering both personal and creative difficulties along the way, the group rose to the challenge, and have returned with more to say than ever.
Colours, their high-energy sophomore album, is packed with slick grooves and polished pop Ð yet manages to sound just as urgent as their debut.
"D'you know, we were very afraid of the producers for the first album," bassist Paul Flannery told Peter McGoran in Walking On Cars' recent Hot Press interview. "We were worried that maybe they were trying to change everything. We were held back a bit by our own doubts. So we thought, 'We'll do it again by ourselves and be more open.' And we were, and it was such a good vibe. The second time was just so natural. It was like getting back together with a new girlfriend."

Returning to Dublin's 3Arena last month after several European dates, Walking On Cars proved that they're still one of the top Irish bands to catch live. With a discography jam-packed with anthemic sing-alongs, and support from rising star Tom Walker and the irrepressible Lewis Capaldi, you can expect the Kerry band's Irish Independent Park gig to be one to remember.
Walking On Cars play Cork Independent Park tomorrow night, Friday, June 21.
