It's the fourth single from the band's upcoming album, due in July.
The Coronas have collaborated with acclaimed English singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin on a beautiful new duet titled 'Lost In The Thick Of It'. It's the fourth single from the band's upcoming album True Love Waits, due for release on July 31.
Coronas vocalist Danny O'Reilly and Aplin's vocals complement each other beautifully, each showcasing their own strengths while helping the other shine. Though it was initially written as a solo song for Aplin, O'Reilly fell in love with the demo and suggested the idea of turning it into a duet.
"Gabrielle and her partner, Alfie (of Hudson-Taylor) invited me to their home in Brighton last year for a weekend of hanging out," he explains. "We said we might try to write a little but it was more like a mini-holiday in my mind. We wrote a song together on which Gabrielle sang lead vocals that became ‘Lost in The Thick of It’ and I loved the demo so much I suggested adding my vocal in a lower octave and making it a duet."
The anthem of resilience is powerful and intricately layered, a collaboration that feels incredibly natural. With resilience on the mind during the pandemic, the band have also been able to laugh about their unfortunate namesake.

"The first thing we did was tweet Corona the beer, asking them what their plan was," Danny says. "When we chat to our mates in bands who have postponed gigs and tours, I just remind them it could be worse, you could share a name with the virus!"
