Coroner finds that Dolores O'Riordan's death was accidental
An inquest at Westminster Coroner's court concluded today that Dolores O’Riordan’s death was accidental, caused by drowning due to alcohol intoxication.
The Cranberries lead singer passed away on January 15 at the Hilton Park Hotel in London.
The circumstances of her death had been investigated since January but were adjourned in the same month. The court was told “various tests” were being awaited after a postmortem examination, but that police found her death not to be suspicious.
Today, the inquest heard that Dolores O'Riordan died by drowning due to alcohol intoxication.
Dolores O'Riordan died at the age of 46. Her death lead to a huge outpouring from the Irish and international musicians. Her bandmates were devastated by her loss.
