The famous couches are ready for the journey to Stradbally – and our guestlist is already looking rather tasty.
We’ve had some of the greats leave their imprint on those famous couches over the past years, surely enough that we could easily clone a whole new generation of rock–star elite. Last year alone we had Chic legend Ralph Rolle, meteoric young Irish stars The Strypes, The Academic and Picture This, along with well-established acts like The Blizzards and Editors.
They were the latest to join a hall of fame that includes the likes of Bob Geldof, Blondie, Chuck D, New Order, Flaming Lips, DJ Shadow, Tame Impala and The Rubberbandits.
And while there’s still a host of names to be unveiled for this year’s proceedings, we’ve already been inundated with RSVPs from the stars of the line-up – and all with the correct box ticked too. Nevermind The Buzzcocks legend Phill Jupitus will be stopping in for what’s sure to be a rib–tickling time, and we’re already due a much–anticipated return visit from The Strypes, Ralph Rolle and The Frank and Walters, along with exciting appearances from first timers Annie Mac, The Hot Sprockets, Jafaris, The Dublin Gospel Choir and Soulé.

One of the highlights is sure to be Love/Hate and Cardboard Gangsters actor John Connors’ appearance with Adrienne Murphy for an intriguing performance-conversation (hopefully with audience participation!) about what it takes to overthrow myths disguised as truths. Sure to be a timely talk in the age of “FAKE NEWS!”
Of course, there’s a galaxy of stars still to be announced for the Chatroom – keep a close eye on hotpress.com for updates over the coming fortnight.
