Antonia Campbell-Hughes, Ruth Bradley and Paul Duane will be chatting with Olaf Tyaransen on the current state - and, indeed, the future - of the Irish film industry
Another of the highlights of Metropolis' impressive spoken word offerings will arrive on Saturday evening, as some of Ireland's brightest acting, writing and directing talents come together to discuss the state of play of film in the country.
The Ireland And Film panel will be chaired by our own Olaf Tyaransen - who, lest we forget, has got in on big-screen action himself with his short film Don't You Know Who I Am? - and will see him reuniting with the director of that effort, Paul Duane. The writer-director has a sterling CV from a career that's seen him co-create the hit series Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, as well as helming episodes of Ballykissangel, Footballers' Wives and Casualty.
They'll be joined by two of Ireland's finest acting talents. Antonia Campbell-Hughes (pictured above) rose to prominence in Jack Dee's Lead Balloon, and gone on to amass a superlative collection of credits, while Ruth Bradley has tasted success with performances in both homegrown shows like The Clinic and Love/Hate and international hits like Doctor Who and the Australian drama In Her Skin.
It's sure to be a fascinating meeting of minds as the major issues of the film industry in Ireland are explored and evaluated; it kicks off tomorrow at 17.30.
