One of the most acclaimed bands on the island, Newry outfit The 4 of Us have been a steadfast part of Irish music history for over 30 years.
Veteran Northern Irish rock band The 4 of Us have returned with a brand new track, titled 'Waiting Game'.
'Waiting Game' examines how the past months under varying levels of lockdown has affected family life. It reveals how one upside of lockdown was the chance to spend more time as a unit together.
Blending contemporary roots with rock, award-winning band The 4 of Us was formed by brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy from Northern Ireland. Their truly unique sound has garnered a large and loyal fan base and a catalogue of timeless songs - including many Top 20 Irish charting albums and several hit singles. Regulars on Irish radio playlists, their music has also been featured on UK and Irish TV soundtracks.
The 4 of Us shot to fame towards the end of 1989 with their debut Songs for the Tempted, which featured the massive hits 'Mary' and 'Drag My Bad Name Down'. The follow-up, Man Alive featured the UK Top 30 song 'She Hits Me'. Sugar Island, their latest critically acclaimed album, explored the Murphy brothers' early years growing up in a border town during the height of the Troubles in Northern Ireland and won them some of the best reviews of their career.
Having joined Robert Plant as special guests for his Irish tour with his new band Saving Grace in the summer of 2019, the duo also headlined a series of festival shows in Ireland before returning to the UK at the end of 2019 for a sold-out tour.
In early 2020, live performance was put on hold and The 4 of Us returned to the studio. The result is a brand new single, 'Waiting Game'.

“The song came about through our weekly Facebook live shows and the video for it is a compilation of clips from those live sessions,” says vocalist and guitarist Brendan.
"We started doing the Facebook shows in 2020 and they’ve been great for us. They have allowed us to connect with fans but also to introduce new songs we’re writing for our next album. 'Waiting Game' went down particularly well so we decided to put it out while we wait like everyone else for the world to open up again.”
