U2, Luke Kelly & Count John McCormack are also being celebrated next month by An Post
Can I lick it? Yes, you can! The Cranberries’ ‘Dreams’, Luke Kelly’s ‘On Raglan Road’, Count John McCormack’s ‘Danny Boy’ and U2’s ‘With Or Without You’ are all featuring as part of An Post’s Great Irish Songs collection, which is being released on May 2. The stamps will be available individually, as a mint collectors’ four-pack and as a nifty looking first-day cover.
There's more good news for fans with Noel Hogan telling Hot Press that a major Cranberries documentary is in the pipeline.
“We had done a few small interviews three years ago individually, the idea being that we’d dip in and out of it,” he reveals. “Those interviews, which of course include Dolores, were never used so there’s lots of great footage we’re going to develop. The original idea was to have it about the first album, how that all came about, but since Dolores passed away we’ve been in talks with different people who’ve approached us about doing a full start to finish documentary. You’ve the bones of thirty years there. If we don’t do it somebody else will, and probably badly. We’ll do it properly.”
We’ll have an in-depth interview with Noel, Mike and Ferg in our April 25th issue.
